As a busy mama of three I don’t have the time(or desire) to spend hours in the kitchen. Meal planning, prepping, grocery shopping, cooking and cleaning up… it takes energy!! That’s why I like to keep things simple around here. We often rotate the same meals around. I’m a big fan of my instant pot, slow cooker and one pot meals. Eating well doesn’t need be complicated. We’ve found a way to feed our family of five healthy, wholesome meals without any fuss! I’m so excited to share two parts of my food philosophy with you guys today.
#1 Don’t over think it:
Your body needs to be fueled. Getting caught up in fad diets, the latest trends, meal plans etc. can make your head spin. Keep your foods as close to their natural state as possible! This will eliminate lots of processed and unwanted ingredients.
#2 Explore within reason:
What do I mean by this? Each week try ONE new recipe. You don’t have to flip your eating upside down all in one week. Keep some things familiar and try changing up one or two small things with each trip to the grocery store. I try to challenge myself to cook one new recipe we’ve never tried each week. This adds some excitement but eliminates any overwhelm.
